Snorkel & Swim: The waters and the reef at Adagio Beach Cottage provide fun activities and give you opportunities to snorkel, swim and see colorful fish like grouper, snapper, yellow tail & crawfish.
Fishing: Local residents toss in a line right off the beach at Adagio but if you are looking for bigger challenges, deep-sea fishing, and bone fishing tours are available at local tour companies.
Dolphin Experience: You can swim with the dolphins or spend the day as a Dolphin Trainer. With UNEXO, the Underwater Explorers Society, people of any age can experience dolphins in a very unique way. Other water activities include a glass-bottom boat sightseeing cruise over coral reefs & fish feeding spots.

Golfing:. Grand Bahama is host to many professional golf tournaments. Grand Bahama is home to two 18 hole golf courses and one 9 hole golf course Whether professional or amateur golfers will experience exceptional, unhurried golf on Grand Bahama Island.





Nature's Paradise: If nature is your pleasure, Adagio Beach Cottage is your vacation destination. Our island is filled with natural wonders. The ecological sites to discover are Rand Nature Centre, Lucayan National Park and Garden of the Groves, all just a short drive from Adagio Beach Cottage.
A great way to get a closer look at our island's natural beauty is on the Kayak Nature Tours Owner Erica Moultrie & her trained guides lead you through the protected shallow waters of Gold Rock Creek & along unspoiled reefs.


If you are a bird watching enthusiast we have the Garden of the Groves, 12 acres of lush tropical flowers, trees, waterfalls, scenic paths, an historical chapel and exotic birds.  At the Rand Nature Centre, there are 100 acres of natural beauty & many species of resident and migratory birds. 
Lucayan National Park, also have unusual bird life on a guided walk through diverse ecosystems, pinelands, mangroves, swamps sand dunes, wetlands endemic pine forests & Sabal Palms. The Park has caves that are part of the third longest underwater cave system in the world,’s Cave & Burial Mound Cave.
 
Port Lucaya Marina is where it all happens on Grand Bahama Island. You can sample delicious cuisine from around the world at the Port and Grand Lucayan Hotel.   China Beach, Luciano's, Churchill's & Willie Broadleaf's are just a few. You can also find your favorite fast foods haunts. Enjoy live shows at the Port, where you learn Bahamian dance steps & songs from great local bands.  Thursday nights catch a glimpse of island culture with the Junkanoo show in the International Bazaar. All this fun is just a short drive into town.

Eating Bahamian: To cook or not to cook, make home-cooked meals on the gas BBQ at Adagio Beach Cottage or visit local beach bars & restaurants, it's your choice. You can also bring your favorite food and meats in your suitcase. Close by Adagio Beach Cottage, Bishop's serves up local fare like fresh snapper with peas 'n rice or stop by Smitty's for Betty's tasty take-out Cracked Conch. Fish Fry is Wednesday at Smiths Point. Local beer & drinks are served at Margaretville Sand Bar in a unique atmosphere.

If roulette, blackjack or craps are your thing, don't miss Casino at the Grand Lucayan Hotel, with restaurants & bars.




For a very special flavour of the Bahamas take home "Androsia" a beautiful fabric that is hand batiked in the Bahamas. This cottage industry has become a national institution. The Bahamian Olympic team wore Androsia shirts when they were presented their gold medals.

The Bahamas is known for International Banking and Grand Bahama has many banks from which to choose. There are churches, synagogues & temples representing every faith, modern medical facilities, an alternative treatment cancer clinic, public library, movie theatre & live theatre companies.  If you are looking for the perfect retirement home, there are excellent real estate buys on the island.

Directions to Adagio Beach Cottage Gambier Point Grand Bahama. From the Seahorse Road Traffic Circle, travel east along East Sunrise highway for 10.1km/6.3mi to the Cassarina Bridge that crosses over the Grand Bahama Waterway.
Continue over the bridge keeping to your left, for 2.4 km/1.5mi until the STOP sign at Grand Bahama Highway.
Turn right and travel along Grand Bahama Highway for 18.5km/11.5 mi past Lucayan National Park.
Continue from the Lucayan National Park for 3.5-km/2.2 miles past the Missile Base Library on your right.
Continue straight ahead following a gentle curve to the right for 3.0-km/1.8 mi until you see the sign welcoming you to the native settlement of Gambier Point.
There are two roads into Gambier Point. Take the first road, Tamarind Lane. Turn right and follow the road right down to the ocean to the yellow cottage “Adagio Beach Cottage”.
Make a left through into the gates and park on the grass near the car port.  If you pass a gas station on your left you have gone too far.  Turn around and go back to the bus stop shack and now take the second road, Tamarind Lane, to the ocean.
